Sustainability
At Mimco, we want to contribute to
a sustainable future.
As makers and creators, we try to consider the impact of what we do.
From design to materials and manufacturing, we're working to support more responsible practices in the fashion industry.
Always learning, always evolving: our sustainability journey highlights progress over perfection. Because even the smallest actions (and accessories) are steps towards positive change.

The Country Road Group's current rating in the Baptist World Aid Ethical Fashion Report acknowledges our commitment to maintaining ethical standards and improving working conditions in our supply chain. In the 2022 report, we were again ranked in the top 20% of brands assessed.
Our largest jewellery factory has been accredited with the ISO14001 certificate, an environmental standard that recognises their efforts in water and waste management.

Leather
manufacturingWe are committed to supporting responsible leather manufacturing across the globe, which is why we're proud members of Leather Working Group (LWG).
LWG is committed to driving improvement across the global leather supply chain, minimising the environmental impact of leather production as well as inspiring, educating, and challenging its member companies.
In addition, we are committed to participating in collaborative efforts in the fashion industry to address the complex challenges of traceability and animal welfare issues within the leather supply chain.

Recycled materials
From nylon waste to plastic bottles—we're exploring ways to keep valuable resources in circulation.
Our products featuring recycled materials are created with fibres made from previously used materials, extending their useful life as accessories to wear and love for a lifetime.

REPREVE®
One Mimco bag can reuse up to four plastic bottles.
Our signature Mimco lining (used in most of our leather, and all our non-leather bags) is crafted using REPREVE®, a fibre made using recycled plastic bottles.
REPREVE® has recycled over 33 billion plastic bottles — and counting.
How the REPREVE® fibre is made:
Step 1
Plastic bottles are broken down into small flakes.
Step 2
Flakes are melted into chips which are then extruded into REPREVE® yarn.
Step 3
Our signature fabric bag lining is created.
