Stylist Kate Gaskin lets us in on a day in her life, and shares some of her working wardrobe style secrets.

“There are generally no two days alike when you’re a freelancer, but this is what my day might look like…”

“First port of call is definitely a caffeine stop at one of my go-to places. I'll then get into the office and skim through the news and check my emails.

If I've had back to back shoots, the amount of emails that stack up can be quite overwhelming, so a chocolate croissant is sometimes needed for a stamina hit!”

“Generally my style is quite casual, however if I'm meeting with a client I like to dress my look up with accessories.

A statement earring is my favourite as it works for a day look, and can be the perfect complement to an evening outfit too. A bold necklace is also a simple and effective way to change things up.”

“After a quick lunch break, it's back to the office for more call-ins, emails and research.

Researching is a big part of my day – trying to find that impossible prop for a client brief, collating shoot references and creative concept documents, or liaising with other creatives to come up with inspiring approaches to our projects.”

“On a good day 6pm is knock off time...or I’ll coincidentally have a 'meeting' scheduled with a friend or colleague at a wine bar!
