Our new Magnolia print is fast becoming the print of the season—hand designed to be the hero print in our Mother’s Day capsule collection. Our soft accessory designer Meg created the print in our Melbourne head office.

How did you create the Magnolia print?

For the Magnolia scarf I combined photographs of flowers, textures and aerial shots of the earth and hand-painted shapes and textures. I’ve worked with these elements creating a rich, layered collage.

What are your favourite elements of the print?

I love the contrast between the subtle textures and colours that are then broken up with larger areas of solid colour.

What material is the scarf made from and why?

Our Magnolia scarf has been printed on a fine silk-viscose material. It has a beautiful hand feel and is the perfect weight for year-round wear.

What colours feature in the design?

I've used the beautiful shade of Mulberry, a key colour for the season, and layered it with an array of pinks and purples—and a pop of electric blue. I also love incorporating black in a print as it really grounds the design and allows the colours to pop.
